A Review of What We've Done
So, you've cropped your image, saved it as a .GIF/.PNG, and are all ready to go! But wait, there's more~ Let's look at the image we just cropped.
That white background is simply unsightly! I vote that we get ready to get rid of it. Shall we?
Step One: Open Your Image
Open MS Paint and select 'File >> Open' or press 'Select+O'.
Find your 'PetzPix' folder, then select your image. We'll be using 'tandem.png', the image from our previous tutorial.
Step Two: Select a Colour & Fill
Transparency is turning one colour of the image transparent (see-through). ANY pixels of the colour will become transparent, so make sure you select a colour that isn't on your petz! I'll choose pink, since Tandem's picture has none. 8D
The next thing to do is to fill in your background! ... whee! xD Select the Paint Can tool, which looks like this:
And go! Our first fill, and then completely filled:
Step Two and a Half: Checking for Specks
Some petz images will have little white areas that the paint can won't fill. Take this picture of Tony, for example. See his back legs?:
Easily enough, we can just fill them in with the paint can. (:
Step Three: Creating the Transparency
Now we get to use our transparency tool. I will be using a simple, fast method using a browser-based transparency tool. The link: Iaza
Select 'Load Image', and upload your file.
Click 'Load', then on the following page select 'Transparent', in the farthest right-hand corner.
Follow the instructions by clicking on the colour you would like transparent. In our case, it's pink.
Click on your image on the next page, right-click, save, and you're done! n_n You may use the URL they provide, but I suggest uploading to your own server, or TinyPic. ;) Yay! Lookit my pretties<3
